RSA Arts and Ecology - is it continuing and where's Will

Just a quick note, what's happening to the project and is Will still around. It appears that the RSA site has been redesigned and no longer mentions arts and ecology. Anyone know anything?

Also, it would be good to know if the ning continues under RSA banner membership will be required. :-) anna

I'm sure that won't be the case, Anna. The RSA set this up (well, I did actually ;-) ) with the idea that it should be an open forum and there would be little point to it if it wasn't...
Well, I'm equally happy if it is in or out.

I'd been out some time but I'm now settled (more or less) and I could be more participative in ning forums...

Not sure how to start but maybe it could be important to point to some subjects of discussion and remind members that ning is open as maybe some are thinking it was closed for activity...

Thanks Phil!!

Will, I'd been looking at the members list and I have the impression that some never had been active and also that there's a need to update news and events... maybe we can start to work in that sections and to start some discussion subject to see how the forum moves.

Glad activity is on again

I recently became a Fellow, and was disappointed to see that the Arts & Ecology strand had run out of funding.  The short-termism of so much project-based funding makes sustaining things very difficult.  However William is right to suggest that there are many things we can do keep a conversation going without needing any funding (although I also believe that social network strands like this one need some dedicated time from someone to keep things cooking - which has been self-evident since William and Emma no longer are able to dedicate time to this at RSA).  Being down here in the SW, I haven't really found a useful 'place' yet within the RSA, and instead I'm focussing on how we develop and focus Arts & Ecology activity down here in the SW.  See my response to William's post on the main page...  RP

...and perhaps a simple question for everyone.  Costs aside ('cos I can't really predict them at this stage), who would find a 2-day Arts & Ecology event/conference/symposium/exhibition held at Dartington either in the Autumn or Spring of 2012 of interest?  Reply here, or drop me an email at richard@auneheadarts.org.uk.

I think part of the problem that Cathy's paper partly hints at is that so much depends of project funding. There has to be a better model for networking arts and ecology.

Yes it can be interesting...I hope we can held some meeting one here, around Barcelona in near future too.
